Who Should be Qualified to Vote in a Presidential Election?

April 7th, 2009

If the Electoral college was abolished, and people directly elected the President, what should the qualification be to partake in a Presidential election? Personally, I think everybody should be able to vote. Everyone has their own opinions, so if everyone were to vote, we would have a variety of votes. Picture this, every year you go to the polls and you vote for the next President. You think nothing of it. What if someone bigger and more important than you came up and said, ” You aren’t as important as me, so you can’t vote,” I bet you would feel pretty lousy, A homeless person on the street is not registered to vote because people believe they aren’t educated enough to understand what it happening. The truth is, they may not know too much, but just because they’re homeless doesn’t mean that they’re stupid. They are smart enough to know what is going on in the world. Everyone has their own opinions, everyone has their own personality. Don’t judge it because of their actions.
